1. What are the educational prerequisites?

A high school diploma, G.E.D. or higher is the only educational prerequisite required to attend F.E.E.D.

2. Where do I pick up my books?

Students must pick up their books and course materials from the Cal Poly Bookstore located at the back of the University Store in the University Union.

3. If dormitory space is unavailable, where else can I stay while attending the program?

F.E.E.D has contracted with Lexington Inn, an extended stay hotel that will provide rooms at a reduced rate. Pricing for the rooms varies by season. For more information please reach out to F.E.E.D. staff through the Contact Tab.

4. Does Lexington Inn offer double occupancy rooms for F.E.E.D students that want to reduce the cost of their housing costs while in the program?

Yes! Lexington Inn has several different room options available for students that sign up early. Some of the rooms have separate bedrooms to allow for additional privacy. To inquire, contact F.E.E.D. staff through the Contacts Tab and will be more than happy to try to pair you with another F.E.E.D. student that is willing to stay in a double occupancy room.

5. Are there any grants or scholarship programs I can apply to, to pay for tuition?

F.E.E.D. has a scholarship opportunity for early applicants who are accepted and pay the $200 enrollment deposit. Please inquire through the Contact Tab.

6. How do I obtain a Cal Poly Parking Permit?

A number of different parking options are available to F.E.E.D. students. To learn more about obtaining a parking permit please visit Parking and Commuter Services at: Cal Poly Parking Services Website.

7. I’m a student at Cal Poly or at another university, can I still apply for F.E.E.D?

Although F.E.E.D. courses are for academic credit, it is recommended that you discuss your attendance at F.E.E.D. with you academic advisor to ensure that it does not interfere with your current major.

8. How many times a year will F.E.E.D. be offered?

F.E.E.D. is tentatively scheduled to run three times a year during the Fall, Spring and Summer terms at Cal Poly depending on enrollment numbers.

9. What attire should I wear while I am on the farm for my internship?

Students must wear close-toed shoes and clothing that is appropriate for farming activities. It is also recommended that students wear a hat and bring sun block. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye protection and gloves will be provided to students.
